Unforgettable Adventures: Exploring Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina with Karen in September 2025!

Review from Karen: Three years ago I lost my husband. We traveled together, something I loved doing, but I thought that my travel days were over with his passing. As a single senior citizen I wasn't sure that I would want to travel alone, nor did I feel safe in all instances doing that. Traveling with Sarah for 10 days and enjoying 2 countries under her love of travel and organization gave me an opportunity that I never thought possible. Her knowledge and companionship provided so much fun. We had an adventure every day and the memories and friendship we made are priceless. It is so encouraging to think that there will be more in the world for me to see and that I can feel comfortable doing so with qualified companies like Golden Global Adventures. Stunning Croatian Coastlines

Upon arriving in Croatia, we were captivated by the stunning Adriatic coastlines. Our adventure began in Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” where we were enchanted by its well-preserved medieval architecture.

Exploring the Old Town, we walked the impressive city walls, enjoying mesmerizing views of azure waters against ancient stones as the sun set behind distant islands. This magical moment is etched in my memory, taken at Karen's pace to ensure her enjoyment.

I arranged our hotel, activities and all of our transportation. My job was to make sure Karen was comfortable and that the trip was tailored to her desires and needs.

Cruise Up Croatia's Coastline

I organized an amazing cruise across the Adriatic Sea, visiting numerous islands. We delighted in exploring the charming small towns on these islands. We both cherished meeting the locals, taking tours, and discovering the history. The cruise docked in Split, where we enjoyed strolling through this historic city.

The Enchanting Landscapes of Bosnia-Herzegovina

Our journey took a new twist as we traveled to Bosnia-Herzegovina, eager to see its stunning scenery and rich cultural background. I drove us to Mostar, home to the iconic stone bridge, Stari Most.

Walking across the bridge, we were treated to breathtaking views of the turquoise Neretva River below. The traditional houses along the riverbanks created a postcard-perfect scene that had us snapping photos left and right.

Reflections on the Journey

Karen and I had an amazing experience. I tailored the trip to suit Karen's preferences and requirements. When her knee bothered her, I ensured we took it slow and that she had the right medication and footwear to alleviate her discomfort. She believed her traveling days were behind her, but she's thankful to realize that with the right companion, she can keep creating memories.
